The Front of House Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the Front of House and Guest Services team, ensuring every guest receives a consistently excellent welcome and stay. This is a senior hotel management position and, given The Bolton's pre-opening status, the role also carries responsibility for helping establish Front of House standards, systems and procedures ahead of launch.

What you’ll do

  • Guest Service & Standards
  • Ensure guests receive a consistently high level of service and a warm, professional welcome at every touchpoint.
  • Keep the Reception and Guest Services area well-presented, clean and tidy at all times.
  • Handle guest queries, complaints and special requests promptly, ensuring guests leave with a favourable impression of the hotel.
  • Champion the hotel's brand vision, ensuring the team anticipates and exceeds guest expectations.
  • Team Leadership
  • Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing Front of House team, including Reception and Duty/Night Management.
  • Set rotas and ensure appropriate cover across all shifts, including early, late, weekend and night operations.
  • Manage team performance and progress, including conducting reviews, coaching and, where necessary, progressive discipline.
  • Deliver induction and ongoing training so the team consistently meets brand and service standards.
  • Operations & Financial
  • Oversee day-to-day Front of House operations, including check-in/check-out, room allocation and reservations.
  • Manage Front of House administration, including house limit checks, credit card authorisation, city ledger accounts and petty cash.
  • Support payroll administration and rostering for the department in line with budget.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise occupancy and revenue in coordination with the General Manager.
  • Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all Front of House procedures comply with hotel policy, licensing requirements and Irish employment and health & safety legislation.
  • Maintain accurate visitor, guest and incident records in line with GDPR and hotel policy.
  • Act as a Duty Manager as required, taking responsibility for the safety and security of guests and colleagues on shift.
  • Pre-Opening Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in developing Front of House SOPs, service sequences and departmental structures ahead of opening.
  • Assist with the selection and configuration of the Property Management System (PMS) and related guest-facing technology.
  • Contribute to the recruitment and onboarding of the founding Front of House team.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in a Front of House, Reception or Rooms Division management role within hotels, ideally at 4-star or above.
  • Strong people-management skills with a track record of leading and developing a team.
  • Experience with hotel PMS systems and an understanding of revenue principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to liaise at all levels.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure.
  • Comfortable operating with a degree of autonomy, particularly given the pre-opening environment.
  • Experience supporting a hotel pre-opening or new-build project is an advantage but not essential.
